“Us, Always” is a selection of self-portraits that seeks to examine the spaces of intimacy and connection between mother and child. The key sense for an infant is their sense of touch – direct skin to skin contact is essential for bonding, comfort, and communication. In this way, physical contact becomes a silent language between the mother and child designed to unite them as one. It is an expression of love, closeness, and safety.
