Elyse Lewis is an emerging artist and recent graduate from Concordia University with a BFA in Photography.
Originally from Montreal’s South Shore and now living in the city, her work focuses notably on the spaces in which she builds relationships with others and herself. Through the use of photography, text, archives, and other objects, she reveals highly personal thoughts and feelings regarding her own experiences within the contexts of given places and the people who surround her in them. This connection between space and relationships allow Lewis to further understand herself in consideration to where she comes from, and help provide answers to her early twenties’ existential questions.
Lewis’ work has been shown in group exhibitions at Montreal’s VAV Gallery and Donald Browne Gallery. She works and resides in Montreal.
